Westminster Hall was opened on Wednesday evening to allow the public to pay their respects to the Queen. King Charles III earlier led a procession that took the Queen’s coffin to Westminster Hall from Buckingham Palace.

A vigil held at the hall and attended by other senior royals as well as leaders from political parties.

The Queen will lie in state until 6.30am on Monday, when the coffin will be taken to nearby Westminster Abbey for the funeral.

According to government tracker, the queue to enter Westminster Hall is approximately 2 miles long approaching 6.30am on Thursday morning, stretching back to Blackfriars Bridge as thousands wait to pay their respects.

La guerra di Gazprom verso l'Europa è iniziata. I flussi di gas sono stati ridotti e come nel caso della Francia addirittura azzerati. Mancano 50/60 giorni ai primi freddi nei paesi del nord Europa. La Guerra del gas farà moltiplicare i costi di gestione delle abitazioni con riflessi negativi sulle economie interne del vecchio continente. Probabilmente a subirne l'impatto negativo sarà il settore turistico e agroalimentare. 

Il costo del metano alla borsa di Amsterdam è balzato del 43% in una settimana, passando da 82,5 a 117,74 euro, con un picco di 134 euro al MWh registrato dopo i nuovi tagli resi noti dai russi. Il trend potrebbe peggiorare e sulla tenuta degli stoccaggi comuni in vista dell'inverno nelle capitali europee comincia a pendere un minaccioso punto interrogativo.

La giornata si è aperta con le brutte notizie per l'Italia. A fronte di una richiesta giornaliera da parte di Eni pari a circa 63 mln di metri cubi, Gazprom ha comunicato che ne fornirà solo il 50%.

Oggi la Russia ha lanciato un missile da crociera che è volato "criticamente a bassa quota" sulla centrale nucleare dell'Ucraina meridionale nella regione di Mykolayiv. Lo ha denunciato l'operatore nazionale delle centrali, Energoatom. Le forze russe "ancora non capiscono che anche il più piccolo frammento di un missile che può colpire un alimentatore funzionante può causare una catastrofe nucleare e una perdita di radiazioni", afferma l'ente in una nota. "La Russia ha commesso un altro atto di terrorismo nucleare: alle 5:30 un missile da crociera, simile al missile 'Calibre', è volato a bassa quota sopra la centrale nucleare dell'Ucraina meridionale. Probabilmente, questo missile è stato lanciato in direzione di Kiev, dove questa mattina si sono sentite esplosioni", ha riferito Energoatom in una nota.
